TAFE NSW is offering independent support workers working via the Mable platform the opportunity to complete free online short micro credentials leading to a Statement of Attainment in Individual Support.


This course reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged and disability services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.


Modules offered at no charge

These units provide credit towards a Cert III in Individual Support and are fully subsidised:


CHCCOM005    Communicate and work in Health or Community Services
HLTWHS002     Follow safe work practices for direct client care
CHCLEG001     Work legally and ethically
HLTAAP001      Recognise healthy body systems


Course delivery

You will be required to complete a total of 4 hours of virtual classes per week over 19 weeks (Mon and Wed 1-3pm). Course commences 2 February 2022.


Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites. You are eligible for these free modules if you are a member of the Mable community and:


  • - you are looking to commence formal qualifications in the sector;
  • - you are new to the sector:
  • - you have recently been out of work; or
  • - you have been working in the sector for some time and would like to upskill.


Eligibility*

You may be eligible for Smart and Skilled funding if you:


  • - are aged 15 years or older;
  • - have left school;
  • - live or work in New South Wales; and
  • - are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Permanent Resident or the holder of a Humanitarian visa.
